Journey in A.P.U. (2012)

I joined A.P.U. Foundation this year March. I really enjoy my life here in A.P.U. I went through hard, easy and happy times since I join here. The hard times are taken as a lesson while the easy and happy times are kept as memories. A.P.U. is now known as my second home. Below is my journey in A.P.U.

March:
I joined the Foundation March intake. Orientation was conducted for a week from the 26th March to 30th March 2012 (Monday – Friday). I was brought to the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) by a staff and a student ambassador after the first day of orientation. When I stepped into FBM, I was indeed very surprised and astonished by the environment of the place. It is very eye catching. I was very mesmerized by the beauty of the nature and environment there.

April:
Classes started on the first week of April. I met many new people, both local and international students. Foreign students were creepy to me at first. But as time goes by, circumstances and situation changes and now I do not feel that they are creepy people but actually they are nice and friendly people. Classes were conducted smoothly. I joined Student Arc this month. I was in the organizing crew for Sports Carnival (my very first event in A.P.U.).

May:
The very first orientation I joined was with the May Intake students. The Student Ambassador session was conducted in FBM, Mines. I was invited to join the Student Ambassadors. The student ambassadors shared their experiences to the new students. A simple game was also conducted. It was tiring but an enjoyable day.

Some of my friends and I conducted the Free Hugs event for the Distress Week. The whole event was successful with many participating.

Jun:
Classes were conducted as usual. Rushing with assignments. A stressful month due to assignments and meeting target schedules.

July:
Charity Bazaar was held this month. I was also helping out in this event. We had 3 weeks of sales in the foyer. We mainly sold pizza, donuts, chatime beverages and many more to raise funds. Other than that, some of the people in charge went for class to class (C2C) session to collect donation. Most students donated willingly and happily. On the main night itself, we had performances but the most interesting event was the Auction. Everything went well and smoothly.

I so happen to be passing by where the Indian Drama shooting was taking place and they needed a local girl to act with them, so I was invited. This is my second shooting experience. I learnt and gained a lot of experience. Seriously it wasn’t easy but fun.

My second orientation was with the Student Arc. Even though exams were in between the orientation days, my results were still satisfactory.

August:
India Independence Day was held this month. I was partially involved with the organization. It was my very first time to stay up so late in the campus helping with the decorations. I wore a saree for this particular event. It was a successful night.

Some of the students and myself attended the Merdeka Day celebration on the 31st August 2012 which was held at the Bukit Jalil Stadium. This was very first time to participate in such a huge event. Our beloved Prime Minister was there to launch the Tweeting Session.

Preparation for the Merdeka and Malaysia Day.

September:
The Pakistani Independence Day, Merdeka and Malaysian Day was held. The Pakistani Independence Day was a huge and interesting event. It was a fun filled night.
A week later was the Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebration. Many things had to be done due to the last minute work and decisions. Despite all obstacles, the event was successful. I enjoyed it very much.

Immediately after the Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebration, I joined the Student Ambassador team.

October:
I joined Student Arc for the October Intake orientation (Degree Level 1) and also as a Student Ambassador in the October Intake orientation for Foundation and Diploma. It was a fun and wonderful experience and each time I learn something new and make more friends too.

November:
This is the month of my exams and also Multicultural Night event taking place. It was indeed a very tiring and hectic month as I had to manage my time well. My exams took place then came the biggest event of A.P.U. which was the Multicultural Night held on the 26th November 2012. It was indeed a great opportunity to organize and to witness the event with so many participation of students from 100 over countries of various cultures coming together on the very same night. It was indeed an eye opener for me.

December:
1st December 2012 was my very first participation as a Student Ambassador for the A.P.U. Graduation Day which took place in Renaissance Hotel. There were over 500 graduates graduating on that day. Many congratulations to them.
A.P.U. tv commercial shooting took place on the 4th December 2012. I had to be in campus at 6:30a.m. Shooting started at around 7:30a.m. This shooting was my third such experience. This time around it was a bit different. The people that I worked with were very professional. We ended the shooting quite late. It was another wonderful experience. If given another opportunity, I would love to do it again. Thank you A.P.U.

On the 9th December 2012 was my very first outing for an Education Fair held in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. It was tiring but fun as I gained new experiences again. I met people of different walks of life.

Many A.P.U. Open Days took place. Another challenging time of the month. Tiring but fun.

In conclusion, 2012 was a gift to me. I gained lots of experiences, met many wonderful people and made many friends. I enjoyed my time in A.P.U. I never regret making my decision joining A.P.U. I never expected that I could gain so much from being a A.P.U. student. I am looking forward to another wonderful year in A.P.U.

First impression on A.P.U

The very first time I stepped into A.P.U when it was known as U.C.T.I then. Now that is has been upgraded to a full fledged university it is known as A.P.U. (Asia Pacific University). I first came to A.P.U. on the 22nd March 2012 (Thursday). When I stepped into A.P.U, I was indeed very much happy and excited to see the surrounding of the campus. Even my dad loved the place very much. The staffs there were friendly. Explanations given were also very clear to my parents and I. After the conversation we were brought on a campus tour guided by one of the senior student ambassador. I knew that A.P.U. is the place for me. I wish to complete my studies here. =)
